A basic knowledge of business management and organization is recommended although not required.
Understanding the fundamentals of innovation management in order to better comprehend the current technological environment, its trends and characteristics for grasping the entrepreneurial opportunities emerging in the knowledge economy. The course focuses on the dynamics of innovation at macro level, through the comprehension of dynamics of competitiveness related to the countries and regions on the basis of their innovation performances as well as on the organizations by exploring fundamentals of innovation strategies. A particular attention is reserved to the collaborative, open and user driven innovation approaches and the opportunities to innovate resulting from Big Data.
Knowledge and understanding. At the end of the course, the students will develop a broad spectrum of basic knowledge related to the drivers and implications of technological innovation on the socio-economic performances of regions and companies by identifying areas of interventions at organizational, technological and strategic level.
Applying knowledge and understanding. At the end of the course, the students will be able to identify the main innovation sources and forms, to assess the value of a technology, to deploy an innovation strategy by leveraging on collaborative and open approaches, to design an organizational and technological model supporting the innovation by the organizations under the forms of product, process, marketing and organizational model.
Making judgements. The course develops within students the ability of independent judgment in the appropriate choice of organizational model, competitive strategy, and technological solutions to support the development of innovation.
Communication skills. The course provides students with the opportunity to develop effective communication skills by discussing business and technical presentations with a varied and composite audience having heterogeneous knowledge background, culture, and language. Besides, during the course, some visits nearby companies and seminars held by invited speakers are organized in order to support further the development of communication and interaction skills.
Learning skills. The course supports students to develop self-learning skills, in order to acquire the autonomy to deepen new topics that are related to the core contents of the course. This may happen during the discussion of case studies, or the development of the project works.

During the semester, students will work in team on a case study that will represent the empirical context of application of the lessons. This project work will contribute at the evalution of the learning path by integrating the result of a final test

Knowledge in the field Innovation Management and Business Management.
The Course aims to introduce the subject of entrepreneurship as knowledge intensive and technology driven process for creating socio-economic value and supporting the regional growth. Starting from the comprehension of nature and trends characterizing the key enabling technologies, the course offers theoretical models and practical tools to innovate business existing and to create new entrepreneurial ventures.
Knowledge and understanding. At the end of the course, the students will develop a broad spectrum of basic knowledge related to the technological entrepreneurship as knowledge intensive process aimed to create socio-economic value from the exploitation of key enabling technologies as well as to understand patterns of entrepreneurial development high-tech and low-tech industries.
Applying knowledge and understanding. At the end of the course, the students will be able to identify areas of opportunities for the development of knowledge-intensive entrepreneurship in terms of creation of a new business and renewal of an existing business, to design a technological entrepreneurship roadmap, to evaluate the profitability of a technology intensive business.

Sebbene non indispensabili, sono utili conoscenze di base in tema di ragioneria ed economia aziendale, gestione d'impresa e matematica finanziaria.
II corso di Ingegneria Economica ha l'obiettivo di fornire conoscenze utili alla valutazione di tipo economico-gestionale nella professione ingegneristica. Il corso illustra strumenti e tecniche per la gestione innovativa d’impresa attraverso l'adozione di una visione sistemica e cross-disciplinare.
Obiettivi formativi visibili
II corso di Ingegneria Economica ha l'obiettivo di illustrare ed applicare metodi, strumenti e tecniche per la gestione innovativa d’impresa, attraverso l'adozione di una visione sistemica e cross-disciplinare. Il corso ha l’obiettivo di accompagnare gli studenti in un percorso di crescita che prevedrà l’acquisizione di conoscenze e competenze in tema di: 1) Valutazione del fabbisogno di risorse di un’impresa e le modalità per la loro acquisizione; 2) Definizione delle attività fondamentali di un’impresa e applicazione dei principi di process management; 3) Identificazione delle modalità operative per la gestione delle tecnologie e delle risorse umane; 4) Definizione di modelli di prodotto-servizio e strategie di innovazione aziendale; 5) Definizione ed applicazione di metriche per la misurazione del valore creato da un’impresa; 6) Identificazione ed analisi di proposte ed idee progettuali in ambiti industriali diversificati.
In particolare, gli obiettivi formativi ed i risultati attesi del corso possono essere descritti in termini di conoscenze, capacità di applicare le stesse, autonomia di giudizio, abilità comunicative e capacità complessiva di apprendimento.
Conoscenze e comprensione: Il corso permette di acquisire conoscenze integrate relative all’impresa, quale sistema socio-tecnico complesso e di comprenderne le dinamiche organizzative e strategiche. Capacità di applicare conoscenze e comprensione: Le attività progettuali e di esercitazione previste nel corso consentono di applicare i metodi e gli strumenti di gestione dell’impresa presentati nel corso delle lezioni. Attraverso tali attività, gli studenti svilupperanno capacità di analisi e comprensione delle dinamiche strategiche ed organizzative riguardanti l’impresa nella sua caratterizzazione di sistema aperto e complesso.
Autonomia di giudizio: Il coinvolgimento degli studenti in attività di studio a livello individuale e di team ha l’obiettivo di accrescere la capacità di giudizio e valutazione dei singoli. L’analisi di contesti aziendali reali e casi studio e la loro elaborazione a livello di team rappresenta un esercizio utile alla creazione di un autonomo giudizio e di sintesi.
Abilità comunicative: Il corso promuove competenze ed abilità comunicative attraverso processi di partecipazione attiva alle lezioni frontali, con sessioni ad hoc dedicate a domande e riflessione sui temi affrontati e la presentazione da parte di tutti i componenti del team delle attività progettuali realizzate nel corso del semestre.
Capacità di apprendimento: Il corso consente di sviluppare capacità di apprendimento in ambiti disciplinari di potenziale applicazione nelle differenti specializzazioni di carattere ingegneristico e rappresentano aree di conoscenza cruciali per il percorso professionale dell'ingegnere.
Metodi Didattici
La metodologia didattica si ispira ai principi dell’action learning. Le sessioni di lezione frontale, svolte attraverso l’utilizzo di presentazioni power point, si alternano ad esercitazioni ed attività progettuali da svolgere in team e relative a casi studio e contesti reali di applicazione.
Modalità d’esame
La modalità d'esame prevede lo svolgimento di un test scritto, con quesiti a risposta multipla ed esercizi. Le attività progettuali, svolte nel corso del semestre, saranno oggetto di valutazione e concorreranno, per gli studenti che sostengono l'esame in modalità frequentante, alla composizione del voto finale.

Learning skills. The course supports students to develop self-learning skills, in order to acquire the autonomy to deepen new topics that are related to the core contents of the course. This may happen during the discussion of case studies as well as during the development of the project works.
During the course, students will have the opportunity to contextualize the contents through case studies and seminars of industrial experts and manager. A fundamental element of the learning path is represented by the project work that will see students organized in teams for practicing a technological entrepreneurial venture process by using the business model canvas and the guidelines of a venture business plan.
The exam consists of a written test. The project work will be also evaluated and will contribute to the final score.

A basic knowledge of business management and organization is recommended although not required.
Understanding the fundamentals of innovation management in order to better comprehend the current technological environment, its trends and characteristics for grasping the entrepreneurial opportunities emerging in the knowledge economy. The course focuses on the dynamics of innovation at macro level, through the comprehension of dynamics of competitiveness related to the countries and regions on the basis of their innovation performances as well as on the organizations by exploring fundamentals of innovation strategies. A particular attention is reserved to the collaborative, open and user driven innovation approaches and the opportunities to innovate resulting from Big Data.
Knowledge and understanding. At the end of the course, the students will develop a broad spectrum of basic knowledge related to the drivers and implications of technological innovation on the socio-economic performances of regions and companies by identifying areas of interventions at organizational, technological and strategic level.
Applying knowledge and understanding. At the end of the course, the students will be able to identify the main innovation sources and forms, to assess the value of a technology, to deploy an innovation strategy by leveraging on collaborative and open approaches, to design an organizational and technological model supporting the innovation by the organizations under the forms of product, process, marketing and organizational model.
Making judgements. The course develops within students the ability of independent judgment in the appropriate choice of organizational model, competitive strategy, and technological solutions to support the development of innovation.
Communication skills. The course provides students with the opportunity to develop effective communication skills by discussing business and technical presentations with a varied and composite audience having heterogeneous knowledge background, culture, and language. Knowledge and understanding. I suoi settori di ricerca riguardano il Technology Entrepreneurship e in particolare l'ambiente di apprendimento sperimentale che incoraggia lo sviluppo di capacità e competenze imprenditoriali. È anche esperta in organizzazioni basate sulla conoscenza e sistemi locali, in approcci IT e cluster, oltre che in teoria della complessità applicata ai sistemi economici. In questi campi di ricerca ha pubblicato diversi libri e circa 100 paper.
