Curriculum Vitae

Francesca Lionetto received her Master degree in Material Engineering at the University of Lecce in 1999. After one and half year of industrial research experience at the Italian (Bari) and German (Stuttgart) headquarter of Bosch company, she granted a PhD fellowship in Material Engineering at the University of Lecce in Italy. Between 2002 and 2003 she was a visiting scientist at the University of Nottingham (UK) after granting a Marie Curie Fellowship. After receiving her PhD degree in Materials Engineering in 2004, between 2004 and 2012 she was a Post-Doc at the Department of Innovation Engineering of the University of Salento in Italy. In 2013 she was appointed as an Assistant Professor (RTD-a) in Material Science and Engineering at the same Department. In 2016 she was a visiting researcher at the Institute of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Kaiserslautern (Germany).

Since 2005 she is Instructor of Record of courses concerning the field of Science and Technology of Materials, in particular since 2015 she is Instructor of Record of the course Composite and Nanocomposite Materials, Master Degree in Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology.

In 2014 she awarded the Italian National Scientific Qualification (Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale, ASN) to the role of Associate Professor in “Material Science and Technology” (SSD ING-IND/22, sc 09/D1).

She is author of more than 90 scientific publications on international journals, conference proceedings and book chapters. She is member of the Editorial board of two international peer reviewed scientific journals and reviewer for about 30 international journals. She is author of 2 national patents and 1 submitted european patent.

iii) curing kinetics of thermoset resins, both neat and nanofilled, used as matrix for composites and nanocomposites;

iv) polymer composite processing and joining by ultrasound or induction welding;

v) ultrasonic consolidation of thermoplastic composites materials

vi) development of hybrid nanostructured organic-inorganic materials based on thermoset resins;

vii) alignment of nanofillers in polymer matrices.
