From June 2011 to November 2018, he was Research Fellow at the Institute of Intelligent Systems for Automation (ISSIA) of Italian National Research Council (CNR), Italy.

From October to November 2013 he joined the Autonomous Robotics and Human-Machine Systems group at the Max Planck Institute for biological Cybernetics, Tuebingen, Germany, as a Visiting Researcher.

From July to December 2014 he joined the “Robotics and InteractionS” team of the Laboratoire d’Analyse et d’Architecture des Systèmes (LAAS) of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), Toulouse, France, as a Visiting Researcher.

Since July 2018, he is the principal investigator of the CNR research unit for the industrial project “MIKE”.

In November 2018, he has been the recipient of the STIIMA Grant Young Ideas 2018.

From December 2018 to September 2019 he served as Fixed-Term Researcher of the Institute of Intelligent Industrial Technologies and Systems for Advanced Manufacturing (Istituto di Sistemi e Tecnologie Industriali Intelligenti per il Manifatturiero Avanzato – STIIMA) of the National Research Council, and he was involved in the design of innovative estimation algorithms for robotic networks.

Since January 2019, he is the principal investigator of the CNR research unit for the project “iDEAS-3D – Distributed EstimAtion of State and inertial parameters of an unknown load manipulated by a team of mobile robots in the 3D space”.

From July to August 2019 he joined the “Robotics and InteractionS” team of the Laboratoire d’Analyse et d’Architecture des Systèmes (LAAS) of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), Toulouse, France, as a Visiting Researcher.

Since October 2019 he is Permantent Researcher of the Institute of Intelligent Industrial Technologies and Systems for Advanced Manufacturing (Istituto di Sistemi e Tecnologie Industriali Intelligenti per il Manifatturiero Avanzato – STIIMA) of the National Research Council, where he cooperates with the Intelligent Sensing and Perception Group for distributed estimation and cooperative control of robotic networks, dedicated to industrial applications, precision agriculture, and smart retail systems.

Moreover, since October 2019 he is Contract Professor at Università del Salento.

Percorso CURRICULUM AEROSPACE SYSTEMS (A111)

Basics in Automatic Control and Control Systems Theory

The following topics are introduced and analyzed:

  • state-space modeling;
  • nonlinear systems theory;
  • Lyapunov control theory;
  • Sliding mode control
  • Linear Matrix Inequalities applied to Linear Parameter-Varying systems control.

The objective of the course of Robust Control and Flight Control is to provide in-depth knowledge of the state-of-the-art control methodologies for guaranteeing robustness. The course is organized to face the control topics from an aerospace point of view with practical examples and case studies.

The course is delivered with lectures and lab hours.

The exam is oral.

The exam starts with a discussion of the project work carried out during the semester to assess the level of knowledge of the student about the Flight Control techniques analyzed during the course.

The oral exam also includes the discussion of more general aspects regarding the Robust Control methodologies encountered during the lectures.

Lecture notes are sufficient to learn the topics faced during the course.

However, further information can be retrieved from:
