The understanding of the space and the objective observer are decisive for the representation of the context. Assuming that there are no patterns or standardized procedures for the economic analysis of a territory, however, more frequently beaten paths that use information and data already available, often provided by organizations and institutions that carry out systematic measurements at spatial scales default are recognizable. The course, starting from some basic geographical concepts, aims to provide tools and methods geared to deal with, from different points of view, research and spatial analysis.

The course includes classroom activities designed to promote critical application of the concepts and learned tools. The classroom activities focus on the use of technical research / discovery designed to stimulate learning, critical spirit, participation and sharing of knowledge by carrying out group work, research and elaboration about specific topics.

The laboratory activities will allow students (attending) also acquire basic mapping skills by using free software GIS (QGIS).
