Teaching description

The student who attends the course must have a pre-intermediate command of the English language (B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference).

GRAMMAR AND LEXIS (B2+)

  • Past time: past simple, past continuous, past perfect, used to, would, participle clauses
  • Present perfect: presente perfect simple and continuous, past simple
  • Future time: will, going to, future continuous, future perfect, future time clauses, present continuous, present simple
  • Present time: present simple, present continuous
  • Indirect speech
  • Conditionals
  • Wishes and related forms
  • Passives
  • Relative clauses
  • Modal verbs
  • Countable and uncountable nouns
  • Linking words
  • Time expressions
  • Comparatives and Superlatives
  • Articles: indefinite, definite and zero article
  • Verbs +ing or +infinitive
  • Phrasal verbs
  • Idiomatic expressions

At the end of the course, the student will be able to use the main lexical and grammatical structures of the English language at a B2+level. S/he will also be able to grasp the meaning of different types of texts, e.g. academic and EU projects.

In itinere written text on grammar and lexis + oral examination on a topic chosen by the student together with the Professor.
